5 Tasty Seafood Pasta Recipes to Try Tonight

5 Tasty Seafood Pasta Recipes to Try Tonight

Though we tend to think of beef, meatballs, and chicken as the classic meats for pasta dishes, Italians have a long history of seafood cuisine as well.

Seafood pasta is especially common in Neapolitan cuisine, which can be traced back to the Greco-Roman period. The citizens of Naples would mix pasta, vegetables, and cheese from rural areas with seafood. The results are timeless, as anyone who has enjoyed shrimp alfredo can attest!

Without further ado, here are some of Pierino’s favorite dishes using seafood:

  1. Cajun seafood pasta. Cajun seasonings and flair may not be the most traditional seafood pasta dish, but that doesn’t mean it’s not delicious. Green onion, parsley, scallops and red pepper flakes make this one a flavorful dish that will leave people talking. Snag the recipe for yourself right here.
  2. One pot seafood pasta with shrimp and Manila clams. This dish combines manila clams, shrimp, scallops and whole-peeled tomatoes for a straightforward take on Neopolitan cuisine. Better yet, the whole meal can be prepared in about 30 minutes and only takes one pot! Try it tonight — you won’t believe your watch or your tastebuds.
  3. Shrimp fettuccine alfredo. Shrimp and alfredo sauce is a match made in heaven. Throw in some excellent pasta and you have a classic standby that’s guaranteed to please. The creamy, cheesy sauce with the light, savory shrimp is delicious enough to win over any seafood-skeptic. You can find recipes for this dish all over the internet, but we prefer to keep it simple. Here’s a solid recipe for this staple of Italian cooking.
  4. Spicy seafood pasta with tomato butter sauce. The pairing of creamy and spicy flavors is enough to make anyone’s mouth water. Tomato butter keeps this one rooted in Italian traditions while the zesty flavors take on a life of their own. Although this recipe uses frozen seafood, you can always use fresh seafood if you’re a purist. Either way, we’re confident this recipe will be a winner at your table too.
  5. Seafood pasta with mussels and calamari. Looking for something a little more adventurous? Calamari may have a bad rep, but it really is quite delicious. This recipe uses white wine, lemon juice, shallots and diced tomatoes to complement the mussels and calamari. Just make sure to buy your mussels and calamari the same day you cook them!
